Self-catering apartments and whole-property accommodation above Ullapool, with open views across Loch Broom

Corylus sits above Loch Broom, just outside Ullapool on Scotland’s west coast. The position offers close access to the village while feeling set apart, with uninterrupted views across the water and surrounding hills.

The building holds two architecturally designed apartments, Fjell and Fjord, each arranged to make the most of light, outlook, and daily use.

Fjell is a one-bedroom apartment for two, looking east along the loch and catching the early light.
Fjord is a larger two-bedroom apartment, facing west towards Ullapool and the evening sun.

Both apartments are fully equipped for self-catering, with open-plan living spaces, large windows and covered decks that extend the living area outward. Materials include timber, birch plywood, and stone worktops, chosen for durability and clarity rather than decoration.

Light and weather remain part of the experience throughout the day. Early light moves across the loch in the morning, while evenings open out towards Ullapool and the harbour. In poorer weather, the combination of shelter, glazing, and insulation allows the landscape to remain present without losing comfort.

Walks begin directly from the door, and Ullapool can be reached in around 20 minutes on foot or a short drive. Many guests choose to settle in and spend time here, using the apartments as a base rather than travelling constantly.

For those travelling together, Corylus can also be booked for exclusive use, combining both apartments to accommodate up to six guests, with the flexibility of shared time and independent space.

A cozy bedroom with a large bed, two pillows, and sunlight streaming through a rectangular window with a view of mountains, water, and trees outside.
